Fangaming Links:

Blazefire Productions
A great guy, and an even better fangame developer. While I annoy him constantly with my talk about what I have planned for a fangame, he actually develops what he comes up with, and quite well. A bit of a perfectionist, so he's repeatedly redone engines for some of his games, improving and improving them each time, when at the time, the level it was already at would've made a for a well-accepted game. Still, he's always shooting for the top.

Sonic Epoch
Many are content with MMF. Some think they're hotshots by getting partway through a fangame project in C++. Rob's developed a general purpose game engine for the GBA, and to polish it and show it off, he's resurrected the fan-favorite SatAM project, Sonic Epoch, and completed development of it at a record pace. The new Epoch is especially impressive technically, not only on par with professional GBA games, but also posesses a tone and quality rare among fangames. Do not pass this one by.

Nakiti.com
A multi-faceted website from a talented artist, but here we're focusing on his game project, Nakiti. A bit of Metroid, a bit of Contra, our heroine must blast through an alien menace overrunning a space station. Some very nice graphical effects in particular. (Site seems to be under heavy construction as of this update, 02/27.)

Scroller Version 4
And now combine the two... Rob Showalter's engine is now publicly available for amateurs to use in developing their own GBA games. This site serves as a resource for the engine, with tutorials, tips, a support forum, and more to come, not to mention a list of Sv4-developed games. Site's still being developed as of this writing (02/27), but what's there is excellent so far.

Sonic Fangames HQ
A top site for Sonic resources, not just sprites, but sound effects and demonstrations of how to achieve Sonic gameplay effects as well.

Mario Fan Games Galaxy
A meaty selection of Mario-based fangames and resources, including an excellent selection of sprites and sound effects perfect for plumbers.

Metroid: Fan Mission
A Metroid-themed fangame site. Working from a fresh start with a new content system, so there isn't much yet in the way of fangames or sprites available yet... but hey, it's pretty, and that's all this world needs sometimes. Besides, it's got some hard workers behind it, so I'm sure the content will be back soon.
