Dear Google Friends,
It's Spring and Google is busting out all over. From wireless phones to
college campuses, Google is on the move.
Is That Your Final Answer??? Try the Google Quiz
Fact-finders and all ye who seek the truth: test the limits of
your search skills by taking the Google Quiz at
www.google.com/googlequiz.html. Use the Google search box to find the
answers to a set of 5 questions, and you just may win a Google goodie.
Wireless Google? It's a WAP: Google Goes Mobile
Now you can Google-on-the-go with our new wireless search engine. It's the
only search engine that translates all HTML web pages into text you can read
on your WAP mobile telephone. That means you can search the entire web, not
just special WAP formatted pages, and get results you can read. Try it by
typing "Google" into your phone's micro-browser.
Practice Safer Search with Google SafeSearch
You asked for a Google search that filters out adult-themed content
pages--now you've got one. Try our optional Google SafeSearch feature by
clicking on the SafeSearch link at the top of your search results.
SafeSearch stays active from search to search unless you click on it again
to turn it off.
Add Your Campus to Our University Searches
Find information specific to your favorite college using our University
searches at www.google.com/universities.html. Within a few days, you'll be
able to nominate your favorite campus to our growing list of University
searches. Keep an eye out for the home page link directly to the nomination
page. Don't forget to be true to your school.
Our Google Doodle
Thanks to all of you who sent feedback on our home page Google Doodle. We
received so many positive responses that even the alien got a raise. Look
for more Doodles in the future.
Wow! We Won Webbies
Thousands of Internet users took to the polls over the last month. When the
results came in, Google had won a "People's Voice Webby Award" as well as
the Webby for Best Technical Achievement. Google team members accepted the
award in Google hockey jerseys while wearing in-line skates. For those of
you who spoke up on our behalf, we include the complete text of Larry and
Sergey's acceptance speech:
"We love you, Google Users!"
