Engineering Excellence Project Manager

This position is based in Mountain View, CA.

Would you like to play a central role in the processes that make Google such a great place to be an engineer?

We are looking for a talented Engineering Excellence Project Manager who can manage processes that facilitate engineering excellence -- such as writing unit tests, fixing bugs, and writing maintainable and reusable code. This position entails coordinating corps of engineering volunteers in everyday tasks, as well as organizing events that take place a few times a year.

Requirements:

BS or equivalent experience in Computer Science.
Software development background, Internet experience.
Ability to work well with developers.
High technical competence.
3+ years relevant experience managing large, fast-paced and dynamic technical services teams.
Strong analytical and project-management skills.
Proven track record of meeting objectives and delivering results.
Experience managing multiple projects.
Outstanding interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
Able to fit in well within an informal startup environment and to provide hands-on coordination.
Establish credibility with staff quickly.

Engineering Excellence Software Engineer

This position is based in Mountain View, CA.

Would you like to be part of one of Google's key software development efforts? We are looking for a talented engineer who can play a central role in improving infrastructure for design and code documentation.

You must be a creative thinker who can identify the weaknesses and needs of an existing process and then develop and deploy a solution. You must be capable of working with a team of engineers who will help set priorities and provide some direction. That said the job requires a self starter who seeks opportunities and is motivated most by seeing the positive impact of their work. Java, C, or C++ coding experience is not critical, but would prove useful. Scripting experience is a must.

Requirements:

Minimum of a BA/BS Computer Science or related technical degree required, MSCS a plus.
1-5 years experience with Internet/software industry.
Solid scripting experience in a UNIX/Linux environment.
Hands-on UNIX/Linux system administration.
Excellent knowledge of HTML and Python or other scripted languages.
Coding in Java, C, or C++ a big plus.
Troubleshooting experience in deploying open source software.
Excellent written and oral communication skills.

Engineering Excellence Tools Engineer

This position is based in Mountain View, CA.

Would you like to play a central role in the processes that make Google such a great place to be an engineer?

We are looking for a talented engineer who can develop software tools that facilitate such engineering practices as unit testing, fixing bugs, and writing maintainable and reusable code. This position entails building monitoring dashboards and writing reminder scripts that help other engineers do their job faster and better.

Requirements:

BS in Computer Science or other technical field.
3+ years experience in software engineering.
Extensive knowledge of Unix/Linux.
Excellent knowledge of Python or other scripting languages.
Ability to work well with developers and with non-engineering personnel.
Strong organizational and communication skills, both verbal and written.
