I always wanted to be used in the various community comics such as The Horror or MC Dash, but I lack a proper identifying sprite. Now, when I first took the surname of Jinnai, I was a little off-kilter, having various emotional issues, being very angry and somewhat senseless, just like good ol' Jinnai. But now that I've mellowed out, I'm really nothing like Jinnai in any manner. So I suggested making a cardboard cutout Jinnai that I would be hiding behind (and would mysteriously change expressions per context but never actually needing explanation as to why, naturally.) It's actually pretty good there, but it never seemed to get the motivation to thrive. |

JJames, your sheet is saved... resized to the point where the sprites aren't very useable. |

how do I make my own sprites so I can be in whatever MC DASH is |
H Hog wrote: | ||
You don't know what it is, but already want to be in it. ;P Bit quick to jump into things, no? MC Dash is a comic by Kulock, the main guy around here. You might notice it on the front page of the Moogle Cavern's main website. How to make sprites? First, decide what you want your charaacter to look like. Then, open MS Paint. Next, import a sprite that most resembles what you want to look like. After that, make the neccesary edits to customise the character to look like how you want it. Finally, save and quit. IT'S THAT EASY |

First of all, Quake's sprite is an edit of Megaman. Second of all, thats a terrible idea. Third of all, even if it were a Megaman edit you should know that Megaman is the most over used tired out sprite you could possibly edit. It should be last resort. |
Blues The Squirrel wrote: |
Your edit is done more tastefully than most are Quake, being that most of them are just recolors of X without a helmet. |
Kulock wrote: |
Don't feel too overwhelmed, Sabator. You're doing custom edits from several parts of other sprites. He simply used a color replacer tool in his art program to repalette the Advance 3 Tails spritesheet. It's an easy way to have a lot of sprites for your avatar, but they look far less unique compared to something custom. (No offense intended, JJames.) |

sorry i didn't know how to get rid of the part the white stuff near the sprites only the top row is me. YES I HAVE SPRITES *parties* |

You expect to be in MCDash with stuff like THAT?
Most of the MC's oldbies havent been in it. Your chance of being in MCDash is so low that I cant tell you because numbers dont go that low. |

Because Hol obviously knows more about Rin's sprites than Rin himself does. |

I know a couple people who think MSPaint is the devil and do every sprite edit with something like photoshop or paint shop pro. I don't know how they can though. I just like MSPaint far better than any other editing tool for editing sprites. |

I think a bunch of it stems from a common misunderstanding. And it doesn't help that MSPaint's help file is so severely lacking... without the advice of an experienced Painter you'd never figure out half the things it can do. (Especially Paint XP. Did anyone know it could do antialiasing?) |

I don't like the "Photoshop doesn't show someone's true skills", though, Photoshop is NOT an easy beast to tame, and it still takes a LOT of work and creativity to depict what you want to depict, just because the tools may better accomodate your tastes and working style doesn't mean you have no skill in comparison. I think I'm fairly good at this point, and I could _manage_ with decent edits in MS Paint, but I use Paint Shop Pro (specifically 7) because I prefer the interface and tools available, and am used to how they work. |
