I thought SA2 did a good job with the grinding actually, I didn't mind the fact that there were 2 stages dedicated pretty much to that idea. What I did mind was Heroes didn't make it at all interesting with the Bullet Station or whatever stage.
Meh, I just want an SA3. SA1 and 2 were fabulous in my eyes, and although I liked the stage concepts of Heroes for the most part, the team thing annoyed me. Why can't we just have a game inbetween SA2 and Heroes?

Moving swiftly on, it's really hard to say something about this game without echoing someone else's post. But this just makes Shadow look like a pathetic character. I was a little peeved with all the Shadow bashing just because his character was messed up in Heroes. SA2 explained him very well as a character, he was deep, he had reason, and his shoes were fucking cool. He actually had a backstory, compared to the rest of the cast. What is Sonic's backstory? He doesn't have one. he just shows up and plays the hero. Shadow had actual plot development. And then Heroes came along and gave him some absolutely pathetically weak lines "Who am I? Tell me! will I ever know!!??" etc.
I haven't played Sonic battle (I really should) but I have been watching subs of Sonic X, and they totally messed up Shadow's character in the 2 or 3 episodes I've seen so far of the SA2 adaption. He went from being this uncaring guy who was just there to get things done, and not piss around. All of a sudden he's jumping around like an idiot, and playing games with Sonic. What the crap?

Well, correct me if I'm wrong, but wasn't Sonic supposed to have a submarine in SA2, or so it was rumored? That seemed cool at the time...
Anyways, my interest is slightly peaked now. Aliens can fit in the Sonic universe, anyone recall the original Marble Zone? I was never really sure what to think of this game, but whatever. It could be good or bad. I'm for the idea of a game in-between SA2 and Heroes to tie things up. If Eggy's involved, anyone think we'll finally see what the hell was with those clones?
Also, my only real nitpick with Heroes was the characters, Sonic and Knux had retained their sass in the Adventure games but lost it completely thanks to their cheesy lines, Tails completely lost that sense of "proving himself", and Amy, who had wanted to earn Sonic's respect and, overall, just be part of his team, decides to beat the snot out of him to get him to marry her. (Of course, there was that little scene in the jail cell in SA2, but seriously...)
I don't care about plot, and I was fine with the gameplay and the levels, but they destroyed the things I loved most about those characters. (And the fact that I was able to tolerate Amy. ;_;)

Besides, that was something that most people missed in the game and was not tied to Sonic 1's plot.

On a side note...
Chaotix, I'm getting way too tired of your attitude about this subject. You're getting nasty without any warning or just based on the presumption of what we're going to say, without us even saying it, to the point where you seem to be STARTING arguments about it more than resolving them or explaining your viewpoint. Instead of, "I really think this has a chance to be good. I like the idea of multiple plotlines and endings, and this could mean a fresh playstyle for a Sonic spinoff," you burst in saying, ""OMG TEH SHADOW IS SUCK BECAUZE HE HAS GUN" You idiots can't see the genius in this!!" That's not appreciated by ANY stretch of the imagination. If you don't get that stick out of your arse, I do have the ability to Mod it out of there for you.
I haven't read the IGN post yet, although I think I got the same information from a GAF thread recently. I won't say much if there are indeed pictures of aliens I haven't seen yet, but I will say that at least I like the multiple plot/ending ideas, and the new batch of screenshots is better than the batch first released, and the video. |

Obviously, I said I wasn't going to say anything again, but this came up. As much as I LOVE being publicly denounced by the admin, I think it warrants me to say something. Even if it is my last, according to your ALMIGHTY proclamation. All I have to say is, don't bother. I'm leaving. If I can ignore this place for about four-five years, I can leave it permanently. It becomes especially easy when you're barred and threatened with administrative action, from expressing your opinion because I don't meet some unspoken social law of the board. In all of my posts, I explained in detail my view point despite what you say, you can read all the posts in this topic and the last one, I never personally attacked anyone or their opinions, and at the few points I did get "rough around the edges" I quickly corrected myself.
Not only did I express my thoughts, but I made it explicitly obvious that these thoughts pertain to my own opinions and assumptions based on what we know. And it's a safe guess, that so is everyone elses unless they own the game right now. So those that accuse me of "shoving" my opinion down your throat, read through a couple of Blaze, Luckett, Sz, ect. posts. And try and find a little line that says "in my opinion" or "these are just my thoughts", "based on what we know now", "this games future isn't set in stone" something along those lines. My opinion may be against the better tide, but I give my reasons and I don't blindly defend it. I've been fairly level headed, and I composed my reasons and stated why I think this way for this or that.
Originally, my come back post was going to be a cute little picture telling you all to deal with it. I'm starting to wish, I left it at that. But no, I decided to stay and give my reasons and hear out what you all have to say. It's very interesting actually, and as I said before, because Blaze was reasonable and attacked only my opinions, and not how absurd and stupid I must be for giving this a chance, I read through and found it a very interesting read. I still disagree with him, I still think this has a remote chance of turning out to be good, I still hold true to my own statements and opinions, but if it turns out wrong I was told so. My opinion isn't changing anytime soon. But he sympathized with me, and stated why he thinks this way. Not just tell me what an argumentive bastard I am. I think it's obvious I can go on forever about it until I agitate you enough to ban me, because my opinion is so different from your own. Some false accusations, a witty comment, you can sweep me out of here like yesterdays news. Which I am, to an extent. But if I have to go, or if I can't say anything because I'm too "attitude savy", so be it. I said what I needed to. |

Woah, something got blown horrificly out of proportion. Suitcase and Sab (among a few others) have a fucking topic telling them off from Ku - do you see them leaving? I'm not gonna lie, I think you've been pretty immature for a lot of this topic, and I'm pretty sure noone ever had a go at you for getting mad at JJ because she was a she - or at least, I don't recall that, it's possible I'm wrong.
