Game Show Proposal... (of my own)
Sure, this isn't the right board to show it, I'm just wondering if you guys think this is gonna be the next big hit or 13-week flop:
The Ultimate Trivia Challenge (formerly: "The Trivia Game")
Premise: Two teams of three people compete to win cash and prizes.
Round 1: There are 6 categories, each with three questions of differential amounts (see notes). Player picks one, correct answer awards cash, incorrect answer recieves no penalty. One of the 6 is a "Triple Play" and is worth all 3 amounts put together, but it has 3 answers that each team member must give (the team is given 10 seconds to confer). If they repeat an answer or don't give one of the three, the opposing team can buzzin and steal that cash with one of the 3 correct answers.
Round 2: Same as Round 1, but with doubled amounts and no "Triple Play".
Round 3: Speed Round. 3 categories are shown with 3 questions, when there's no more Questions in that category, it changes to a new one, 2:00 of rapid-fire quizzing. the amounts increase every 30 seconds (see notes), highest scoring team wins and goes to the bonus round.
Bonus Round: One player is on stage whereas the other two are in soundproof booths. Before the show, a player had to give a "category of expertise" and 10 questions are in each colored card (red, yellow or blue). player has 100 seconds (1:40) to answer ten questions. player can pass, wrong answer takes question out of play for the player. if player 1 fails to get all 10 questions right, Player two has to answer the questions Player 1 missed, 10 seconds per question (so if Player one got 6/10, player 2 has to get the remaining four in 40 seconds), if player 2 fails, player 3 has to answer the questions they missed. If they get all 10 questions right, they win a jackpot and retire. if not, they win an amount for every one right, and two new teams play on the next show. If all 10 are gotten by the first player alone, each player recieves a brand new car.
Now, onto the amounts, I made three different amount versions: Local Show, Cable Show and Network show.
Local Show amounts:
Round 1: $75, $150, $225 ($2,700 max)
Round 2: $150, $300, $450 ($5,400 max)
Round 3: $75, $150, $300, $450
Bonus Round: $300 per correct answer, $7,500 for winners (increases by $750 each day it's not won)
Cable Show amounts:
Round 1: $150, $300, $450 ($5,400 max)
Round 2: $300, $600, $900 ($10,800 max)
Round 3: $150, $300, $600, $1,200
Bonus Round: $750 per correct answer, $15,000 for winners (increases by $1,500 each day it's not won)
Network Show amounts:
Round 1: $750, $1,500, $2,250 ($27,000 max)
Round 2: $1,500, $3,000, $4,500 ($54,000 max)
Round 3: $3,000, $4,500, $6,000, $7500
Bonus Round: $15,000 per correct answer, $1,500,000 for winners (increases by $150,000 each day it's not won)
The reason why all the amounts are divisible by 3 is because the team's gonna end up splitting all the cash they won, and rather than have $33.33 or some oddball amount, it's easier.
