Myst's Movie Reviews: The Powerpuff Girls
*insert clip of the PPG thrashing through townsville here*
as you may already know, the PPG movie is a prequel. it tells the story of how the Powerpuff Girls & Mojo Jojo were born. & before the movie starts, there's a Dexter short.
...which is really stupid.
for a 67 minute movie, it seemed pretty long. i kept expecting it to end, knowing that it couldn't last much longer. ...but it kept going. & going. & going. the animation is VERY cool, so is the action. but the best part of the movie- The Gangrene Gang get more screentime than i thought. ^_^
the music, although not vocal, is pretty cool too. lots of fast-paced techno beats during fights, & the ending battle (which i won't spoil) is petty dang cool too. it could've used at least one vocal song during the film tho. that's the only bad thing i can think of in this movie. it does get a little slow here & there, but overall a great film. SEE IT! THE FUTURE OF CARTOON NETWORK MOVIES DEPENDS ON HOW WELL PPG DOES!!! (& we all want to see the Ed's on the big-screen, don't we?)

The new Dexters really suck. Oh and an Ed Edd an Eddy movie would be great.

You think PPG movie was a dismal failure, “Hey Arnold: The movie” ranked # 14 at the box office this Forth of July weekend in the US. Now Nick is making a The Wild thornberrys: The movie, BLAH!

PPG is the only cartooncartoon that's really any good anymore aside from Samurai Jack (Which is even better then PPG) >.o Dexter and Cow and Chicken were ok at first but... eh. Courage has some good morals to it, but the sheer stupidity of the dog ruins everything.

It's a shame Dexter was ruined. Dexter's Laboratory was GREAT, but the new, new episodes ruined it. Now the art is cheap, and the humor is just boring. It's obvious someone big left the staff.
Oh, Courage and Sheep own. I'm suprised Sheep in the Big City isn't big here, since it tends to use "random humor".

Sheep in the Big City rules. I'm not a fan of any of the other Cartoon Cartoons, though.  especially PPG. PPG is just wannabe anime to me.

I'm also a fan of Ed Edd and Eddy. I loe Ed,he's sooo funny.
As for the PPG movie. YEs it was a complete failuure. Do I blame MIIB? No, not really, I think no matter when you release amovie, there's going to be competition. I thik it would have done better if it had been released with Hey Arnold and even dropped Arnold down furthur.
the problem was WB didn't advertise on any Networks besides CN, and all the CNers all ready knew about the damn thing. They didn't advetise for the movie on other networks until about 2 weeks before it came up. There was no hype at all about it and that's the main reason it failed.
Too bad too, an Ed Edd and Eddy movie would have rocked.

The show was dubbed into Japanese to show in Japan, it was so popular, a Japanese group did a music video for it, it was so good, it was shown here.
