Our dreams have come true.
I was so elated when I found out about Sonic Mega Collection. Now it features:
Sonic The Hedgehog (Genesis - 1991)
* Sonic The Hedgehog 2 (Genesis - 1992)
* Sonic CD (Sega CD - 1993)
* Sonic The Hedgehog 3 (Genesis - 1994)
* Sonic & Knuckles (Genesis 1994)
* Sonic 3D Blast (Saturn - 1996)
* Sonic R (Saturn - 1997
* Sonic Shuffle (Dreamcast - 2000)
* UNCONFIRMED: Sonic Drift (Gamegear - 1995)
But is that enough? I know the Gamecube can take more than that. I think a few more games could fit on this lovely system. Myself, I think mabye they could finish Sonic Crackers. What do else do you want on this disk?

Re: Our dreams have come true.
And here we go. Didn't take long before this topic shown up, did it? Someone mentions another Sonic Compliation and suddenly it's a "Hey they have a chance to show us all the incomplete stuff, except complete!" ;) They won't finish anything. They won't include any beta material. There won't be any "HIDDEN PALACE COMPLETED IN SONIC 2" or anything of the sort.
What would I like, even just wishing? That demo of Sonic Xtreme, no matter how incomplete it really was. Or maybe a full on level editor.
I wish that EVERY Sonic commercial -- both American, and japanese were present on the disk (Things like that surreal Sonic R "Hard Stuff" commercial, or perhaps the old Sonic 2 commercial I almost don't remember except for this dumb fatguy with a jackhammer doing something).
A much more detailed Sonic Museum. Sonic JAM's current one is fine, but could be expanded upon alot more.
If not the above, a video of an interview with Naka, possibly even Naoto if they can.
Full soundtracks, not just for the games in the compliation, but for other non-recent Sonic titles as well (like perhaps Knuckles Chaotix).
The Continuation of that damn Sonic JAM video. Bloody hell. It's been 5 years since they left us hanging with "TO BE CONTINUED", and part 2 is featured nowhere on the disc.
Offical translations of all the Japanese Sonic manuals into english instead of the "Lazy ass" american manuals.
However, one thing guranteed -- if there's going to be a "Sonic world" in SMC, there's going to be a Chao Garden that'll either connect to Sonic Advance 2, or the original Sonic Advance. (Or... perhaps both?)

Re: Our dreams have come true.
Sonic 3 and Knuckles is still the best. They should have add-ons for that, such as new (secret of course) levels, new playable characters, and another Super thingy, like "Super Melon" or "Super Buzzbomber" or even "Hyper Amy". Preferably Hyper Knux.

Re: Our dreams have come true.
Umm, there IS Hyper Knux in S3&K.
I won't be satisfied with this complication til Knuckles Chaotix is in it. It's not the best Sonic game, but it's far better then Sonic Drift....or even Sonic R to an extent.

Er, yeah... There's a Hyper Knux in S3&K. ;D
But... As I said, if they fix up Sonic R (although, that's quite a bit of fixing), it could sell by itself.

Re: Our dreams have come true.
Chaotix was "okay", it was more pretty then anything incredibly special. And if you ever play the "2 Player" mode, the two better be soul-mates with minds that work alike. Me and my sister usually just end up "calling" each other until we hit -99 rings and die ;E

Blaze already touched on the primary point.
"Super Melon?" Why Buzzbomber? And you can't have a Hyper Amy till you have a Super Amy... which you can't have until you have an Amy. ;o
Firstly, if Crackers is what most people think it is, it's merely a prototype that was trashed and converted to 32X as Chaotix (especially with Mighty OBVIOUSLY being the Crackers Sonic covered over with some extra fleshing and then the recently discovered fact that he is the "first" character in the game data, and #2 is "----" removed.)
As for additions to ANY of the other Genesis/Megadrive games, understand that this would be a very large task to take on, which would require the old hardware from back in the day, like the digitizers, and presumably some ancient development computers running 68000 and Z80 assemblers/debugers. It would require a large effort and probably a good deal of money, especially if much of the old staff either no longer exists or is out of touch with the now very very obselete 68K CPU op's ;E

I hope you people are all aware that Sonic XTreme is just Sonic Adventure unfinished as Sonic Crackers is Knuckles Chaotix unfinished, but you still want it anyway.
What about Sonic 1 and Knuckles? Not once have I heard someone mention that.

I have to ask: For Knuckles Chaotix, why wasn't Tails just changed to Ray the Squirrel? It would fit...
And Sonic XTreme is NOT Sonic Adventure unfinished. It's a completely separate game that got canceled due to the sudden lack of programmers.

Re:
There's already a thread about this here, but this thread seems to be pretty healthy as well, so what the heck.
Blaze: That Sonic Jam video probably never had an ending produced. It was probably a promo Sega of Japan comissioned, but didn't like the result or the cost necessary to produce a running series. It's possible, though, that Sega of America saw it, and convinced Sega of Japan to let them try to market the series, but more cheaply produced and American-friendly, it could've been the start of AoStH, there are some interesting similarities. (Although I would've killed for an AoStH like that.)
"Chaotix was "okay", it was more pretty then anything incredibly special."
Except for the "Surprise" scene, which was probably one of the coolest moments in a Sonic game ever. Metal breaks into your home base, slides into the Combi-Controller, his eyes flash red, and he starts sending various dangers after you. That was just bloody wicked. ^_^
"I hope you people are all aware that Sonic XTreme is just Sonic Adventure unfinished as Sonic Crackers is Knuckles Chaotix unfinished, but you still want it anyway."
...No, you're mistaken, Sonic Xtreme is an entirely different game, developed by an entirely different group than who deveoped Sonic Adventure, that would be like saying Crash Bandicoot and Mario 64 are the same game. Sonic Crackers was the prerelease to Chaotix, but Xtreme and Adventure are very, very different games. (After all, one actually used Metal, instead of shoving his model in a tube. >_< )
"What about Sonic 1 and Knuckles? Not once have I heard someone mention that."
I actually joked about that in the other version of this thread. Beforehand Knuckles couldn't really lock-on to Sonic 1 because of programming limitations; Sonic 2 had some loopholes left in the programming, and with creative patchwork with replacing Tails and some other things, they could get Knuckles in Sonic 2 to work, but Sonic 1 was too hard-coded to reasonably do it with the lock-on cart. But since they wouldn't be limited by cart physicality now, I joked they could make a hidden reward of a few smaller Sonic games, and hack a copy of Sonic 1 to include Knuckles as a bit of silliness. They wouldn't be necessarily limited by what the Genesis could handle anymore (unless their emulator gets very strict), and it wouldn't be a matter of hot-patching the ROMs, they could just save a second copy of Sonic 1 already-hacked on the disc. It'd be a nice reward for beating some of these games again.

Re: Our dreams have come true.
The main problem with putting Chaotix in the Sonic Megacollection is that it's not a Sonic game. Talk about "true Sonic games" all you like, but in reality the true test of a Sonic game is (surprise!) whether Sonic is in it. And Chaotix, sadly, fails that one.
And equally unfortunately, the American manuals technically ARE the "official" translations. Blaze, the word you're missing is "direct", which, when placed after "official", would convey the meaning you're going for.

Even though Mighty is just a sprite-redo of Sonic, Sonic is in the ending, and your primary enemy in the game is Metal Sonic? ;P That's a lot of Sonic for a non-Sonic game. I can see where you're coming from, but I still think it's close enough to fit.

Jeezus...
Makes me wonder how all these games are gonna fit in that itty bitty disc =P lol. Then again it could come with more then one disc ^_^ but thats a pretty impressive Collection. Even Sonic Shuffle being part of the collection is impressive. As for the Chaotix, its may not be Sonic but it is a part of Sonic's history and its one of the game that features a co-star of Sonic as the hero. and Chaotix was kinda rare anyways and not many of the Sonic Fans who came onto the scene when the Adventure series started got to play it. But blah thats my opinion. =P
Priceless isn't it?
