Google Mobile — Local Search
Want to get local listings, maps and driving directions on your mobile phone or device? Here's how.
Tip: You can always get help using Google Local on your mobile phone or device by selecting the "Search Tips" link located under the search box or in your search menu options.
Use Google Local to find info on everything from restaurants to dry cleaners on your mobile phone or device.
- Access the mobile web browser on any mobile phone or device that supports XHTML (WAP 2.0).
- Type http://mobile.google.com/local.
- Enter your local search query (for instance, 'sushi restaurant' or 'wireless hot spot') in the 'What' box.
- Enter your location (for instance, 'New York, NY' or '10011') in the 'Where' box.
- Select and hit the "Google Search" button.
- Now just scroll through your search results. You can:
- Locate a business's exact location on the map by zooming in and out or shifting the map north, east, south or west.
- Get driving directions to your desired location
- Place a call directly to a business by highlighting and selecting its phone number*
Tip: You can also get Local results by going to the Google home page on your phone's web browser (http://www.google.com/xhtml). Simply type in your search term and include a zip code or the city and state, then select 'Local,' and local search results will appear at the top of your results.
* Note: Not all phones allow you to place a call from your web browser. Check your owner's manual for more details.

Driving Directions |

Here's how to get driving directions by using Google Local on your phone:
- After conducting a local search, click the 'Driving Directions' located at the top of the page (you can also get Driving Directions directly from the home page).
- You'll be redirected to a new page with the business' address in the 'End Address' box.
- Enter your location in the 'Start address' box.
- Click the "Get Directions" button.

No need to memorize a business' phone number; our Local search results now enable you to immediately call a business from your mobile phone by highlighting its phone number on your search results page and clicking "Enter."
However, please note that that not all cell phones support this functionality; check your owner's manual for details.

Now that Google Maps is incorporated into Google Local, you can zoom in to find any given business' exact location or zoom out for a broader view of its neighborhood. You can also shift the map by clicking on the "North", "East", "South", and "West" links located under the map.
