Knux5A very good recreation of the famous S2 Prerelease pics. The rhinos were the closest substitution (as some say, a little too close...) and the BG wasn't available, but otherwise a great effort. (Original picture for comparison.)

KulockAh. I hope if I ever made a contribution to Sonic hoaxdom (is that a word? O_o), this was it. Super Sonic (S2), Super Tails (S3), and Knuckles in his "spiffy sprite" (I can't believe someone submitted this sprite as a Fake Hoax to Simon. Come _on_, you see it every time you Super!), all battle the Sonic monster. My only regret? I stupidly clipped the Sonic off of the title screen, rather than using the perfectly clear frame right before it. X_X *facefaults*
Let's see, 1. A good, and early, Dust Hill Hoax. 2. It represents this page author's opinion, at least partially. 3. Bonus points for being an early Sonic CD hoax, a game decidedly harder to clip sprites out of.
Why not? It was one of Simon's first "beta" recreations, and frankly, one of the best. I really like the coloring and details of the hoax.
KulockI'm not sure why, but I've always liked the hoax. The situation worked perfectly (the gamesprite even had the right shading for the situation), and I just think it's more interesting than the S1 finger wagging. But what do I know. ^_^
Very original for it's time, Robotnik faces Green Hill's boss, Sonic (S3) in the Eggomatic! Except for the accidental compression (unintended saving as JPG with no backups), very detailed.
Still one of the, if not in fact, the most thorough Sonic Crackers hoaxes ever. Sonic and Tails face off against Robotnik in the "end" of the first Zone, with counters redone to replicate those of Knuckles Chaotix. The sheer amount of work alone is impressive. ^_^
One of the early hoax series, "What if Sonic went Bad?", this installment was quite funny, and probably led a few other artists to do more humerous hoaxes. ^_^
KulockYou have to honor the beginning, right? ^_^ This was my first hoax, and I still like it, I didn't cheapen out and do a three second slap job, I compared with an unedited pic and added the clouds back in manually. ^_^ Plus the Sonic 2 art is still a little better. ;]
