Helpdesk Administrator,
2nd/3rd shifts & weekends
Temporary assignments at Google through ABE Services.
Position based in Mountain View, CA.
Google is growing, and is looking for all level helpdesk candidates for
2nd and 3rd shifts and weekends. You will work with a team of experts
to help resolve problems.
Responsibilities:
- Telephone support for employees needing help with technical issues.
- In-person support for employees who walk to the help desk with questions.
- Perform software configuration and hardware configuration repairs
yourself, when possible.
- Refer more-complex repairs or reconfigurations to the appropriate
specialists.
- Help install new desktop systems for new employees.
Position requirements:
- Outstanding customer service and interaction skills.
- Outstanding verbal and written communication skills.
- Knowledge of some of these topics: Windows XP, Windows 2000, Linux
desktop, PC hardware installation and configuration.
- BS degree preferred or equivalent experience.

Executive IT Field Technician
Positions based in Mountain View, CA.
The IT Infrastructure is looking for a few dynamic Executive Support Specialists capable of thriving in a fast-paced and
high-pressure environment. This individual must be a highly seasoned IT professional capable of establishing a elevated level of
trust with the Executive team, one capable of communicating highly technical information to non-technical individuals and
effectively operating at the Executive level. This position will work closely with the IT Infrastructure
teams, other internal operating units, remote IT teams, and external companies to ensure the Executive IT requirements are
exceeded and supported in a timely fashion. This individual will provide all hardware, software support as well
as recommend technologies better suited for a highly mobile Executive team. This position should be considered an advanced support
level position with an expertise in all facets of IT platforms and connectivity.
Position overview:
- Assume ownership and full accountability for the Executive support model at Google.
- Provide the Executive and admin team support and expertise on all IT related
matters including but not limited to desktop hardware, software, connectivity, phones, and PDAs.
- Provide on-call support when needed.
- Assist the team with technical recommendations for software, hardware and
solutions appropriate for a highly mobile Executive team in accordance with IT standards, policies and procedures.
- Provide project coordination with implementation, deployment, documentation and training were appropriate to ensure success.
- Provide general consulting and training for the Exec team with the use of software, hardware and peripheral devices.
General requirements:
- Experience working in a global IT organization.
- Excellent written and verbal communications skills with a highly professional appearance.
- Strong customer service orientation.
- Experience with Purchasing and Procurement, and sourcing with external vendors and contractors.
- Ability to establish strong relationships with individuals at the Executive level.
- Must be dynamic, innovative and capable of garnering the respect and high-level trust required by the Executive team for
this position to be successful.
- Be proactive and actively engage the Executive team with regards to new solutions or potential issues.
Technical skills:
- Bachelors degree required.
- Must have at least 4 years of direct work-related experience with help desk and Executive support.
- Advanced knowledge of all Microsoft client side.
- Experience with Linux and MAC OS a plus.
- Blackberry support and administration experience.
- Support exposure to Active Directory, Exchange 2003, networking technologies
such as TCP/IP, DNS DHCP, VPN, antivirus and spam/spyware blocking technologies.
- Expertise in supporting various local and network based printing technologies.
- Ability to support and troubleshoot video conferencing technologies and solutions.

- Provide direct support for services such as office phones,video conferencing, and remote access.

IT Field / Data Center Tech
Position available in Santa Monica, CA.
We are looking for an IT Field / Data Center Technician responsible for supporting the needs of Google's business office
and coordinating technical resources at various locations. Work on a team with highly motivated, talented individuals like
yourself that are striving each day to advance their Linux, networking, and hardware-related skills.
Position overview / requirements:
- Provide direct support for Linux and Microsoft desktops/laptops and user access to corporate network and applications
both on the network as well as through remote VPN access.
- At least one year of Linux and two years of PC hardware experience.
- Able to lift/move 20-30 lbs equipment on a daily basis.
- Experience troubleshooting and installing operating systems, networking equipment, and software.
- Must provide own transportation to the job site.
- The ability to adjust quickly to changing priorities and make quick decisions with limited information.
- Experience supporting remote users.
Responsibilities / Technical Skills:
- Install new servers as our Linux cluster grows.
- Help test and troubleshoot new server hardware components and designs.
- Install switches, routers, and other networking gear.
- Fix broken servers (replace hard drives, replace bad sticks of RAM, etc.).
- Configure and troubleshoot Linux OS related issues on our servers.
- Excellent knowledge of PC hardware and problem-solving skills.
