Executive Protection Specialist

This position is based in Mountain View, CA.

Reporting to the Manager of Corporate Security & Safety, the Executive Protection Specialist will work with Google's executives, assistants and event planners to ensure the protection of Google assets. Travel of up to 50% will include security/logistics advances, protective details, and special event coverage. Ideal candidates will have full-time experience with executive protection such as private sector assignments, Military, Secret Service, Marshals Service, Diplomatic Security Service or other relevant history. Other key skills and abilities:

  • Minimum education of a BS/BA degree required.
  • Trained in protective driving.
  • Knowledge of surveillance, counter-surveillance and technical surveillance countermeasures.
  • Understanding of advance security planning.
  • Experience coordinating outsourced services for security support.
  • Certified in first-aid, CPR and use of AEDs by a recognized national or international organization.
  • Knowledge of threat assessment and selection of appropriate controls.
  • Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills.
  • Excellent judgment, discretion and diplomacy.

Lead Chef  

This position is based in Mountain View, CA.

One of Silicon Valley's hottest and fastest growing internet companies is looking for an experienced and innovative Lead Chef to run one of several onsite Cafes. We see a quick and creative thinker who knows how to have fun while cooking! This is a corporate café that runs like a restaurant. The cafes will "compete" with each other for participation; therefore each Chef will produce organic, high quality meals to attract Google employees. You are responsible for all aspects of the kitchen: menus, ingredients, staff supervision, financial tasks, equipment maintenance, etc.

Requirements:
  • A minimum of 5 years as a sous chef and 1-2 years experience as an Executive.
  • Chef preferred, but not required.
  • Experience with ethnic and vegetarian cuisines using organic products.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Good command of the English language, both written and verbal.
The Lead Chef oversees all aspects of the café. We are looking for the Chef to creatively prepare meals with organic, high quality ingredients and creativity. There are multiple cafes, and you will work with your peers to ensure the overall food program at Google is the best it can possibly be.

Responsibilities:
  • Manage the overall success of one of several food service operations within Google, promoting our organic and healthy culture.
You will work in concert with the on-site food service partner who supplies staffing and outside resources for our food program. You will create menus that meet the cultural and dietary needs of Google employees, and that meet all Health Department, OSHA and ADA regulations. You will oversee production and presentation of meals for your café.

Mail/Shipping/Receiving Manager

This position is based in Mountain View, CA.

Responsibilities:
  • Supervise direct employees.
  • Develop and maintain procedures and training manuals.
  • Effectively manage Google's on-site mail/shipping/receiving.
    • Manage Google employees.
    • Manage vendor partner relationship.
    • Ensure monthly, quarterly and yearly reporting is received from vendor and present to executive management as required.
  • Strategic planning of space requirements for department.
    • Ensure space is used efficiently and plan for expansion when necessary.
  • Processes & improvements:
    • Continually work towards process improvements that allow the programs to grow as Google grows.
  • Provide customer service support to Google employees.
  • Receive and investigate complaints.
  • Provide guidance and assistance regarding the requirements and interpretation of U.S. export regulations and implementation of such requirements. Conduct training to employees in the application of such regulations.
  • Develop, implement and administer global compliance programs, including training, policies and procedures, for Google worldwide.
  • Assess and analyze licensing requirements for Google. Prepare various types of export authorizations. Ensure compliance with all such approved export authorizations. Keep records of all such activity.
  • Investigate potential export non-compliance issues, preparing voluntary disclosures and corrective action plans, as necessary. Conduct compliance reviews and assessments of activities.
Skills Required:
  • Vendor management in a growing dynamic environment.

  • Experience in creating procedures.
  • 5-8 years export compliance experience.
  • Audit background desirable.
  • Experience in writing commodity justifications, classification requests, licenses and agreements.

  • Bachelor's degree in related field or equivalent experience of 5 to 7 years directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.

Project Coordinator

This position is based in Mountain View, CA.

Responsibilities:

  • General Coordination:
    • Provide administrative support to Real Estate and Construction Project Manager (PM).
    • Organize, file, and store all project-related documents for future reference and comparison.
    • Work directly with vendors and purchasing representatives on RFPs.
    • Coordinate kick-off meetings with project teams.
    • Coordinate all aspects of weekly progress meetings for team and ensure meeting minutes are kept and distributed.
    • Monitor and report progress of multiple concurrent construction projects; provide updates on weekly conference calls with entire team.
    • Track changes, customer requests, delays, and assist Project Manager in coordination and responses to various issues.
    • Identify problems and suggest solutions in a proactive manner.
  • Scheduling/Planning:
    • Assist with new site surveys.
    • Coordinate landlord approvals on new construction projects.
    • Interface with property management prior to construction (obtain handbook, hours of operation, gain access to buildings, etc.).
    • Create and track vendor contracts.
    • Schedule vendors’ working timelines.
    • Create and maintain project schedule using Microsoft Project and distribute to team.
    • Research local vendors for architectural services, general contractors, and furniture distributors.
    • Coordinate the bidding, vendor selection and contract award process.
    • Facilitate open and clear communication with onsite facilities personnel and security team to maintain awareness of vendor/contractor work.
    • Coordinate with users and space planners to assure space developments meet forecasted headcount needs.
  • Budgeting:
    • Assemble budgets from proposals and information provided by vendors and PM.
    • Prepare project approval documentation for executive approval.
    • Negotiate pricing with vendors.
    • Submit CAF approval through the online Oracle system.
    • Create POs through the online Oracle system for approval.
    • Submit approved invoices to A/P and track to budget.
    • Obtain W-9s for new vendors and assure their entry in the online Oracle system.
    • Work with A/P and vendors to resolve outstanding payment issues.
