Google Recognized As Top Business-To-Business Media Property

BtoB Names Google a Top 10 Advertising Property in its Media Power 50 List

MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif. -- May 6, 2002 -- Google Inc., developer of the award-winning Google search engine, today announced it was named a top 10 advertising property in the Media Power 50, an annual review of the most powerful and targeted business-to-business advertising outlets published by BtoB, a leading national marketing publication. This award distinguishes Google as a top property for business-to-business marketers.

"Business users around the world depend on Google as a credible and reliable source of information," said Tim Armstrong, Google vice president, Advertising Sales. "Thousands of advertisers use Google's ROI-focused advertising programs to reach this targeted audience successfully. Our top 10 ranking in the Media Power 50 demonstrates the tremendous value Google provides to the business-to-business marketing community."

In addition to Google's recognition as a consumer brand, the search engine will receive more than 10 billion search queries this year relating to business-to-business products and services. Google's simple and effective keyword advertising programs enable vendors to leverage these searches to reach millions of potential customers in real time. Users respond to Google's targeted, text-based ads with a click-through rate that is up to five times the industry average. Google's sales team includes dedicated market specialists in a number of business-to-business categories, who understand respective industries, associations, and metrics. Featured in the May 6 issue of BtoB, the Media Power 50 is compiled by a panel of top media buyers and BtoB editors, who selected the most valued and effective business-to-business advertising venues among hundreds of media outlets, including online, broadcast, print, and outdoor properties. Other top 10 properties in the 2002 Media Power 50 include, The Wall Street Journal, Fortune, C|NET, CNN and The Economist. More information can be found at http://www.btobonline.com.
