Director of Operations
Position based in Mountain View, CA.
Help us manage and direct one of the most advanced and
innovative operations environments on the planet. In addition to the
usual strong people management, vendor management, planning, and budgeting
skills required for a director-level job, we also expect a broad and
deep knowledge of all relevant technical areas (hardware, networking,
and system administration). Responsibilities will be tailored to your
background and interest and may include system administration, networking,
and co-location.
This position requires:
- Extensive experience at a Director level managing a technical operation (preferably for high volume website).

Engineering Director, Google Enterprise Products
Position based in Mountain View, CA.
Google is the premier provider of Internet search and has the most advanced
search technology in the world. Help pack the power of large numbers of machines down
to a single enterprise product. You will be building and shipping Google's
Enterprise products based on Google’s core technology.
We are looking for a highly accomplished and technical Engineering Director to
help build and manage a world class team of 40+ engineers in an innovative and

Engineering Project Manager (SRE)
Position based in Mountain View, CA.
Google is looking for project managers who can manage technical projects in
the Google.com group. The candidate will be responsible for the overall
planning, budgeting, execution, and success of these projects and will work

Project management skills:

Google is looking for a dynamic professional to manage cross-functional
projects within the scope of the Hardware Operations group. Working with
all organizational levels you will develop and manage project schedules,
identify risks and clearly communicate them to project stakeholders, define
problem solving and risk mitigation strategies, and facilitate conflict
resolution through the full project cycle. You will oversee the compilation
and analysis of project activity and will deliver statistical data/reports
on a project's feasibility and progress.
A strong background in IT infrastructure, technology development/deployment
or computing sciences is essential for your success in this position. You
must have a proven track record of project completion.
Responsibilities:
- BS or MS degree in Computer Science or Engineering or a minimum

Launch Coordination Engineer
Position based in Mountain View, CA.
We're looking for a Launch Coordination Engineer who
will help our engineering teams launch exciting new projects onto the
Google website. You will be responsible for ensuring that projects
are ready for launch from a design perspective as well as making sure

Must be able to accommodate flexible work hours to make sure that projects

Platforms Project Manager

Google is looking for a senior engineering project manager with demonstrable
experience with complex, multi-disciplinary, geographically dispersed
engineering design, prototyping and manufacturing projects. Knowledge of large-scale computer farms, networking, AC power distribution and conversion, and
cooling methods (at multiple scales), are highly desirable.

System Operations Manager
Position based in Mountain View, CA.
Google has an immediate need for a manager of our System
Operations group, reporting to the Operations Manager. This is a role
for a disciplined, creative, well-organized leader to manage our existing
world-class group of system administrators. Our system administrators
are absolutely the best, and their manager must be every bit as good.
The System Operations group (sysops) at Google is an
internal group responsible for the administration of all of our computers
except those in finance/MIS, and for the design, implementation, and operation
of our corporate computing environment. Sysops is responsible for many
aspects of the administration of our data center computers, and all aspects
of the administration of our corporate server and Linux computers. We
are looking for someone who can command the intellectual respect of the
engineers in the group while providing a client-focused interface to the
rest of the company.
Responsibilities include:
- Manage a medium-size and growing team of system administrators.
- Take full responsibility for prioritizing the tasks presented to the
group.
- Be the contact point for the group in all corporate interactions.
- Work with the Operations Manager to produce budgets and to stay inside
them.
- Manage troubleshooting and incident reports.
- Work with the full operations group and with Google's strategic planners
to help design each new generation of our computing and network architecture.
- Take responsibility for the implementation of system administration
projects, which can involve programming, procurement, deployment, maintenance,
troubleshooting, education, and emergency response.
Requirements:
- BS or BA in a technical field.
- 5+ years as a system administrator in a Unix-centric environment.
- Familiarity with Windows, and experience with Windows/Unix interoperation.
- 2+ years as a manager of system administrators.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
