Associate Product Marketing Manager

Decision Support Analyst

Position based in Mountain View, CA.

Major functions:

Manage a small Decision Support group that supports a global team running marketing campaigns and launching new products:

  • Gathers the requirements for decision support across teams and structures the work.
  • Decides what analysis should be done, leads the more complex analyses, and supports individual teams in their work.
  • Drive analysis to "so whats" to influence marketing plans and decision making.
  • Design experiments to understand constituent behavior, evaluate alternatives, and measure impact of changes.
Experience / Skills:
  • Minimum 5-7 years decision support experience. Proven ability to develop complex analytical models and use statistical tools e.g. SPSS or other statistical software.
  • Knows when to and can perform a wide range of statistical analyses to compare performance over time, across different cohorts of constituent groups as required.
  • Significant experience with regressions and correlation analyses. Perform data cleaning/validation and simple economic modeling (CPA, ROI, curve smoothening, pareto analysis). Can extract and explain "Marginal" vs. "Average" numbers, understands when to use which.
  • Significant experience creating and using Relational DBs, Pivot Tables, internal tools to extract basic reports, perform data analysis and report information from large data sets.
  • Experience in forecasting and projecting key metrics based on available / extrapolated data.
  • Can create SQL scripts to pull data from internal databases, write automated reports and dashboards.
  • Perform segmentation analysis, perform and interpret statistical analysis to validate results and compute significance e.g. analyze LTV.
  • Create models to analyze financial and operational impacts of various campaigns.
  • Lead the thinking on how to set up experiments and track results. Can independently collect data from multiple internal and external sources.
  • Can draw conclusions from results, communicate the implications across constituent groups within Google, make changes to future campaigns, and demonstrate thought leadership around how best to change the strategy for various groups.
Education:
  • Education from recognized top university, strong emphasis on Computer Science / Math.

Director of Customer Analytics

Position based in Mountain View, CA.

We have immediate need for an experienced professional to drive the company's worldwide market research and customer analytics efforts. The ideal candidate has a proven record managing in-depth quantitative analytical and market research studies in both the U.S. and internationally and a precise understanding of how to leverage findings to drive product development and marketing.

This person will be responsible for supporting Google's revenue generation efforts worldwide through deep analysis of internal and external research efforts, and conversion of raw data into compelling sales and marketing materials. Role will include working with global research firms and other suppliers, managing quantitative and qualitative studies, and leading the market research team.

Responsibilities:

  • Shape and define strategic planning for market research and customer analytics initiatives across all lines of business and geographies.

Responsibilities:

  • Managing Google's localization team, including performance reviews, career planning and recruiting new talent as required to manage varying work load.
