Head of Channel Programs

Position available in Mountain View, CA.

Google is looking for a Head of Channel Programs who can bring their excellent strategic alliance/business development leadership to assist us in building out our 3rd party channel strategy and partnerships. Ideal candidates must be extremely results oriented, with a history of achievement in creating and managing channel programs. In addition, the candidate should be very partner-focused, proactive, and able to work effectively within and/or manage a team environment. This candidate must also be comfortable presenting to Google senior management and negotiating against the senior most executives at our partners. Ideally the individual will have previous experience setting up and managing strategic channel/reseller relationships, and making channel programs highly successful.

Responsibilities:
  • Drive channel/reseller strategy in helping Google to acquire/penetrate new advertising segments.
  • Identify, structure, negotiate and close large, strategic revenue-generating channel and reseller relationships with potential partners.
  • Manage and drive execution of strategy in a cross-functional environment within Google, including product management, legal, finance, support and operations.
Requirements:
  • MBA/JD & 5-8+ years of senior strategic channel/reseller based business development experience preferred OR BA/BA & 10-12+ years of senior channel/reseller oriented business development experience.
  • Proven track record of setting up successful and highly profitable channel programs and partnerships.
  • Proven track record managing business development, sales, and account management teams.
  • Strong understanding of financial modeling.
  • Excellent presentation, communication, and influencing skills.
  • Outstanding sales skills.
  • Ability to effectively operate with high energy and flexibility in a fast-paced, constantly evolving, team environment.
  • Attention to detail.

Manager, Strategic Partner Development, Google Print

Position based in Mountain View, CA.

Google is looking for a Strategic Partner Development Manager with extensive partner/business development experience as well as experience working in the publishing industry. This role is one that identifies, pitches and negotiates significant relationships with publishers as part of our Google Print team. Responsibilities include prospecting, pitching, negotiating and closing contracts with large and mid-sized publishers. Ideal candidates must be extremely partner focused, proactive, entrepreneurial, and work effectively within a team environment.

The successful candidate for this position will have a very strong understanding and interest in both the publishing and internet industries, demonstrated business development skills, will be seeking to join a young and growing group within the organization, and will have the ability to work independently and be the ambassador for the company in discussions with key accounts and prospects.

Requirements:

  • BA/BS or equivalent required, MBA preferred.
  • Minimum of 8 years work experience with 2 years related partner or business development.
  • Work experience in business development, sales or other similar role in the publishing industry.
  • Proven experience negotiating and closing strategic partnerships and a high volume of standard partnerships.

Manager, Strategic Partner Development, Wireless

Position based in Mountain View, CA.

This high-visibility role requires someone who will be responsible for identifying, structuring and negotiating revenue-generating relationships with some of Google's largest and most strategic partners. In addition, these individuals will be responsible for negotiating and closing contracts, as well as forecasting probability and timing of contract completion. Ideal candidates must be extremely partner-focused, proactive, work effectively within a team environment and be comfortable presenting to Google senior management.

Partner Manager, Google Print

This position will be based in Mountain View, CA, New York, NY, London, UK, or Paris, France.

Fluent spoken/written French, Italian, German, or Spanish highly desirable.

Google's rapidly growing Web Search and Syndication division is looking for a Partner Manager who will be responsible for maintaining and growing strategic relationships with our Google Print partners. These partners include some of the top traditional print publishers of books and magazines. You will be in charge of managing partner relationship activities and representing Google's brand and interests to the partners.

Responsibilities include forecasting and reporting revenue and other key metrics, tracking actual progress toward forecasts, driving new business opportunities, and ensuring prompt and proper resolution of business issues with the partner. We are seeking a proactive and organized individual with relevant experience to join our growing team.

Requirements:
  • BA/BS or equivalent.
  • A minimum of 6 years previous work experience including 4 years of related program or partner management experience in either the search or media industries.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of the search industry and previous experience working with traditional print publishers is highly preferred.
